Elements of Mission Style Architecture include:
- Simple strong one and two story volumes
- Roofs of 4 in 12 to 5 in 12 pitch
- Clipped eaves and simple tile rakes
- Clay barrel tile roofs
- Finished edges on platforms
- Smooth stucco texture
- Light earth tones ranging from sand to white and peach with blue, green and natural wood accents
- Timber framing as accents
- Use of plaster arches
- Windows deeply set and defined with stucco
- Chimney cap designs with moldings and accents
- Portal posts of wood or stone
- More common in Arizona and California
